Established in 1970
Sanskrit language is a vital part of the Indian culture and deserves to be studied and conserved. At SDM PUC, studentsare educated with the classical Sanskrit prose, poem and plays along with modern Sanskrit literature. The department not only focuson the academics, but also provides a thrust to the co-curricular activities relevant to the language. The department is well-known for its social responses by publishing books regularly through the Sanskrit Sangha. The department also conducts technology enabled classes which encourages the Students to participate in seminars and presentations
Associations and Activities
The activities of Sanskrit Sangha
The activities resume in the beginning of the academic year with the installation ceremony. Few activities of Sanskrit Sangha are: Sanskritotsava, Gurupoornima, KalidasaJayanthi, Valmiki Jayanthi, Gita Jayanthi, book publications,hand washing day and student seminars. Subodhini, a fortnight wall magazine is one of the prime works to mention.
Scholarships and endowment prizes
Every year, Sanskrit students are felicitated with three thousand rupees from the Rastriya Sanskrit Samsthan, Delhi. Endowment prize along with the Koteshwara Krishna Aithal memorial prizes are also distributed to the meritorious students.
